Don’t Let Social Media Be Your Reality

Over the past year, every single person who looks 100% fabulous all the time in my feeds that I spent one on one time with also either 1) broke down crying over how hard life/work is, 2) made a plan to give up, or 3) threw up their hands admitting they had no idea what the path forward might be. Including and especially me.

Even those of us who position ourselves as experts or just generally fabulous have the worst days, the worst doubts, the darkest hours.

Here’s to more truth telling in 2019. I wish you all real, offline joy, connection, hope, and love. Keep it real and reap the real benefits: real relationships and connections with real humans. Here’s to fewer likes and more hugs. Fewer comments and more conversations. Less FB and more face time.

We’re in this together if we choose to be. Pick up the phone to call, not text. Create and cultivate a circle of people with whom you can share the ugliest stuff. Go to therapy. Get treatment. Ask for help. Exercise. Sleep. Play. Appreciate yourself every day.

You are worth it.
