It’s coronavirus time, and if you weren’t already working from home, you are now.
Most of us work from home from time to time, but it can be a challenge to ignore the siren song of pajamas and the next episode of that Netflix series.
But if you follow a few strategic steps, working from home can be (almost) as productive as the corner office.
Whether you’re a full-time remote worker or quarantining to play it safe, here are our pro tips for staying sane and productive while working from home.

Designate a Dedicated Space
Where’s your home office? You might have a separate room, but even if you don’t, you can create a workspace that is visually dedicated to productivity. Eliminate distractions and create an area where you can focus and feel inspired.
Get Dressed for Work
Morning routines matter, even if you work from home! Get dressed for work, make your coffee, and even commute. That’s right – go for a walk around the block and come back to create the feeling of space between your home and your work.
Use Time Blocking for Focus
Set a timer for focused work and take breaks in between. Some people use the Pomodoro Method, which involves setting a timer for 25 minutes and then taking a 5-minute break.
Use Distractions as Rewards
Dying to reorganize that closet or try that new recipe? Rather than abandoning your work, use those home projects as breaks or rewards. At the end of a project or end of your day, do something you really love as a reward for all your focused work.
Don’t Forget to Schedule Regular Social Time
Isolation is dangerous! You might not even realize how much you’ve been alone until you get around people again and start chattering nonstop. Stave off loneliness and avoid getting stuck in your own head by setting up time with friends, either in person or via FaceTime, Zoom, or phone.
Practice Good Video Style
Watch those camera angles! Whether we like it or not, our appearance and surroundings are sending nonverbal messages to our business colleagues, so be mindful of yourself and your environment. Position cameras higher up to eliminate those extra chins, and face a light or window to get rid of unflattering shadows.
